PERUGIA

Perugia is Umbria’s largest and most cosmopolitan city, steeped in history and culture. Take a day trip to the world heritage site, Assisi, or explore the beautiful city centre after a lunch of fresh pasta with local truffles. 

ASSISI

Lying amongst the rolling hills of Umbria, Assisi is best known as the birthplace of St. Francis, Italy's patron saint. This picturesque town is full of surprises amongst its narrow streets and stairways.

ORVIETO

A striking hill town that lies halfway between Rome and Florence, sits on top of a big chunk of volcanic stone overlooking Umbrian plains. Scattered with traditional trattorias and artisan shops there is something for everyone in this town full of rich heritage.

Still surrounded by the ancient fortress Roman walls, there is endless exploring to be done in Spello. Famous for its narrow medieval streets adorned with colourful flower-filled balconies which once a year are celebrated with the Flower Festival of Spello.

GUBBIO

One of the most ancient towns in Umbria whose origins go back to the height of Umbrian civilization has remained beautifully well-preserved over the centuries. Gothic towers, 14th-century turrets and distinct rooftops are its most iconic features. 

Lago Trasimeno

Lago Trasimeno is Italy's fourth-largest lake (128-sq-km) and a perfect spot if you want to head off the well-trodden track. Close to the stunning castle-topped medieval towns of Castiglione del Lago and Passignano, which are also ones to visit. 

CascatA delle Marmore

Created by the ancient Romans, the Cascata delle Marmore is Europe’s tallest man-made waterfall at 165m. Watching the gates open as water crashes into the valley below is an unforgettable sight.
